Why is becoming a legal U.S. citizen not as simple as walking into an office and saying ” I want a social security number”? Yet they’re expected to pass a test which most natural born citizens couldn’t pass if their citizenship depended on it. I don’t care if you speak English or not, if they wanna be here, let them be here! but make it easy to become legal, and boot the one’s who refuse. living and working illegally in this country dose far more harm than it would if you just gave em all S.S.N.’s. And don’t say oh well welfare would sky rocket, that’s simple too if you haven’t payed into the system you shouldn’t be able to receive anything.

So by your logic, the only requirement to be a citizen would be to walk into the immigration office and say you want to be a citizen and presto…you become one? Just where do you think we would get the resources to support our population doubling in a matter of weeks?
Anyone with a 5th grade education should be able to pass the citizenship test, especially when the questions are provided before the test.
I would make it much harder to become legal, the USA already gets many many undesirables because of lax immigration laws, and we also get utterly lazy immigrants the don’t want to do a lick of effort to come to the USA.
Thank god people like you aren’t in charge of anything, because if so, we all would be living in a 3rd world dump.
Why should it be dumbed down to the lowest denominator??
The test is not that hard……………and with the checks that are in place at the moment, while a royal pain in the butt, as some one that did it the LEGAL way can honestly see why they are there.
At least this way you can hope to weed out some of the aholes before they get in…………….
go to the back of the line. you can’t take cuts. If other people pass the test, so can you if you study.
And guess what, I don’t care that you don’t care. With your utterly ridiculous idea, then pretty much all of Africa, South America, and half of China would be virtually empty by the weekend. Why is it our responsibility to take all of the rejects and refuse of the third world? It isn’t. So if you don’t like it, you are free to leave.
I don’t want it easier to become legal. We have 50 million americans in poverty. If anything, we should be restricting immigration more and increasing enforcement. We should reduce family based immigration, and make it easier to get highly skilled workers. Send the third world trash back from whence they came with a boot in thei rass.
