Hey guys So I will be starting school this fall at Pennfoster.I have always wanted to work in the Education field as a teachers aide but I heard they don’t get paid in the summers,and they don’t have alot of job security.I read that the job outlook for paralegals is 28% between 2010&2018.I have heard you work long hours&the job is boring.I really enjoy working with children.Should I follow my heart and do something I really enjoy or just become a paralegal&work long hours just so I can support myself (Im not money hungry,I heard that teachers aides make crap but I was a teachers aide in high school&enjoyed it) Harsh comments will be reported.

It’s interesting to note that CareerCast® ranked 200 different jobs based on stress, work environment, physical demands, income, and general outlook, ranking attorneys as 82nd on that list, with federal judges ranking 69th. Those working as paralegal assistants fared significantly better, ranking 17th – with court reporters not far behind at number 28.
Having said that, Sassy (my better half) turned down a position as an actress at $250,000 per year – because she loves kids so much. At the time, she taught drama, and took 5 of her students to New York to audition for TV shows. One was massively nervous, and she auditioned just before he did to help take the edge off. Two of the students were hired – including the nervous one
In the end, you have to act on your own aptitudes and desires. Good luck with it.
My friend is a paralegal. She used to work a job that was kind of boring and didn’t pay very well. Now she works at a different firm and gets lots of overtime because of the long hours. Always has plenty of work, so it’s not boring. She also goes to trials a few times a year so there is a little travel. She also makes a lot more money now. From what I understand it really varies wildly what your job will be like based on what kind of firm you are working for.
