For months now I’ve been having problems with viruses and malware on my computer, I’ve used programs like Rkill and TDSSkiller to get rid of some (and they got rid of them) but every few days or so a virus will try to fool me that somethings wrong with my computer and mess with my programs, even when I kill them all, there is still one thing that concerns me. Now I use Norton Security Suite (I get it free from Comcast and I have to use food stamps to buy my food so please don’t tell me to buy another antivirus.com”target=”_blank”rel=”external”title=”fave anti-virus” >anti-virus because I cannot afford it) and every time I scan, it will give me the results of one cookie, and it says that it resolves the problem but i can run a scan immediately after and it will give the same results. It has been doing this since December and it wont give me any details about the cookie but after I had to get TDSSkiller to stop huge attacks on my computer im starting to think that this cookie is the one that is causing all of this. To add to this, ive been having trouble whith all search engines i’ve tried to use because when I click a link on them it will redirect me to crap like Gimmeanswers, Happili*, searchcomet.com, www6.rentacenter.com, and so on and if I catch the address bar between the redirecting to happli it says click.buzzlink,.com, also on the tab it sometimes says “Redirect”. Ive tried to look up solutions but all I could find was a website that offered a fix for a fee (which makes me think they are the ones who made this virus in the first place) But I really don’t know what to do about it. And before Ive had problems with a windows that blocks all of my applications coming up “Vista Internet Security 2012″, but I defeated that crap with the TDSSkiller I mentioned earlier. But still norton keeps giving me this result of a cookie that it claims is resolved but shows up in every single scan, even if I turn the internet off and empty all of my cookies on both firefox and internet explorer. Please does any one have any idea what I can do? Because I have ran out of ideas myself.

You need to remove malware remnants that redirect search results. Please follow this removal guide:http://deletemalware.blogspot.com/2010/0…
Format it & use safely
IT is simple. You have to stop going to those porn sites.
Do yourself the biggest favor you can: stop wasting time with Windows on the ‘Net and use Linux. Then 99.8% of the problems and babysitting a computer go away.
Dual-boot keeps Windows just as you have it, and adds Linux on it’s own partition.http://www.psychocats.net/ubuntu/install…
“Mint” is another easy to use flavor with identical install as psychocats describes.
Note that Linux still uses the same Internet & it’s pitfalls, so you have to stay alert regarding scams and misdirects, and the like…but infections (especially ‘drive-by downloads’) won’t happen.
About cookies:
“1st party” cookie assets are from the site you ask the browser to ‘fetch’. They are usually helpful, usually harmless and are often required to view and interact with the site. They can be anything at all: text, video, audio, tracking cookie, images for example.
Your browser simultaneously fetches 3rd party assets, again: anything at all: text, video, audio, tracking cookie, and so on. These are not on the primary URL address site, but from remote servers; and are normally associated with advertising.
Because there can never be any certainty about what exactly is being returned, you should stop those 3rd party ‘assets’ from even getting inside your system in the first place; then fall back to removal tactics with a ‘scrubber’, such as “CCleaner” or “Glary Utilities” (for the less evil ‘stuff’); and a malware remover such as “MalwareBytes” http://www.malwarebytes.org/ for the really bad stuff.
(See GRC for simple diagrams on how browsers fetch and display 1st and 3rd party ‘assets’; https://www.grc.com/cookies/operation.ht…
The following mods help, but methods (vectors) constantly change.
►FIREFOX: Tools> Options> Privacy> top-slot, drop menu; tick “Firefox will use custom settings…”> Check ‘Accept Cookies from sites’
& ►► Un-Check ‘Accept 3rd Party cookies’
My recommended Firefox Collection, for improved security, and a tad bit of ‘appearance’ mod’s.https://addons.mozilla.org/collections/d… which includes flash cookie blocker.
►► At minimum get “NoScript” which blocks scripted assets (and tons of leverage vectors) until you specifically allow them.
IE does not have exceptional “3rd party” blocking or control of anything really, and should not be used for any browsing. Use at your own risk.
every few days or so a virus will try to fool me that somethings wrong with my computer and mess with my programs – thats not a virus, thats malware, malware is not classed as a virus.
Norton Security Suite – most people run malwarebytes along side Norton because Norton is known to miss on some forms of malware.
cookie – we all get cookies however most people block third party cookies:http://www.bobulous.org.uk/misc/third-pa…
Vista Internet Security 2012 = malware:
Remove Vista Internet Security 2012 (Uninstall Guide)http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-re…
TDSSkiller does not remove Vista Internet Security 2012 only the rootkit.
What i would do:
1. follow the guilde:http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-re…
2. You want a score of 100% from free Secunia Personal Software Inspector
3. block third party cookies.
4. do a free online scan:http://www.eset.com/us/online-scanner/
(this is to see if Norton has missed anything)
5. look at getting real time protection from malware (if you pay for malwarebytes you get real time protection)
All of these solutions are safe and free!
Most importantly, get rid of Norton…
First, download one of these…http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-…http://www.free-av.com/en/download/1/avi… (Avria)
***Never use more than one, active, anti-virus program at any one time***
Uninstall Norton, either with the ‘uninstall application included, the Norton Uninstaller… https://www-secure.symantec.com/norton-s…
or with Revo Uninstaller.http://download.cnet.com/Revo-Uninstalle…
Re-start and install the Anti-Virus of your choice and do a full scan in Safe Mode with Networking*.
Then, download, (if you can’t get on-line, have a friend download and copy to disc/flash for transfer) install, update and then in SAFE MODE* run full scans with these programs…
** http://www.malwarebytes.orghttp://www.superantispyware.comhttp://dl.surfright.nl/HitmanPro36.exe
**Note: Malwarebytes should be run in ‘Normal Mode’ unless that isn’t possible!
*** Important, when downloaded/installed/updated disconnect from the internet ***
Then re-start.
Try running a couple of on-line scans to be sure…http://housecall.trendmicro.com/uk/http://go.eset.com/us/online-scannerhttp://www.pandasecurity.com/homeusers/s…
*Note: On start up (before Windows loads) keep tapping either F5 or F8 (be aware that some manufacturers use F8 for system recovery!) then use arrow keys to highlight ‘Safe Mode with networking’ and hit Enter/Return, click on a user account, enter the Administrator password (if you don’t know it, there probably isn’t one so leave it blank) and hit Enter/Return.

Run MSE to clean it up first, probably a java related bug. Then use the google chrome browser or firefox only, it seems to me that Google Chrome is the safest browser, I don’t like it the best, but I think its the best to use if going to suspect sites. I use FF for everything else.
