Do I reinstall my router software?

You do NOT intstall software for a router. It is standalone and needs NO drivers or software to run. First look at the router and see if it shows a WEP or WPA key listed on a label. That should be right unless you changed it. If not, either connect this machine by network cable or use any other machine connected to the router, and download the manual from the manufacturer’s site. Log in to the router as described in the manual using a web browser. Go to the wireless security section and read the key. You may need to click a button to make the actual characters visible. If you can not see the code, change it, but remember this will affect any other wireless machine on your network.

have you tried reseting the router? usually there is always a reset button on them somewhere. hold it down a for about 10 seconds. connect your computer to it and go to the internal IP to access the settings and make a new password. (i cant remember what the standard IP is. so you will have to google for it)

If it is a thomson router. Go to the thomson website and check your details. It will be the WPA-WSP security key.

    Try this:
open command prompt and type Ip Config
Type the Ip address into your URL
Look around the settings, there is usually a recover button or something like that (depending on your provider)

Get the Key off from the bottom of your router.

I think your internet service provider would know that.
