Both Bush and McCain supported reform, so why is it now a bad thing for Republicans when Obama’s pushing reform?
Obama’s reform is nothing like Reagan’s accross the board Amnesty. Obama’s reform would make them get back in line, pay a fine, get background checks, and even make them learn English. Washington (CNN) — Legalization of the more than 11 million unauthorized immigrants in the United States would raise wages, increase consumption, create jobs and generate more tax revenue, two policy institutes say in a joint report Thursday.

    Because they truly wish to exclude them. Giving “them” a pathway to citizenship would mean that “they” would become “us”, and “we’d” have to extend to “them” the same rights and benefits “we” enjoy as citizens. And the conservatives, a) don’t want to pay; and b) don’t want to pay for non-white, non-born citizens’ needs… just like they don’t want to pay now for their human needs.

    Let’s look at it this way. Do you think if I went to Canada illegally, they would fine me a few bucks and let me stay? Awww hell no. I’d be shipped back here so fast, my head would spin. Same with every other country I can think of.
    We are the only country in the world that basically encourages illegal immigration. Instead of encouraging it further, why aren’t we doing more to prevent it?

    Yeah, says a study done by the Center for American Progress, a partisan leftist think tank.
    The article itself mentions work done by conservative-leaning think tanks like the Center for Immigration Studies, which found evidence contrary to what CAP found.

    Typical Liberal response to the ILLEGAL problem we have in America! You know they are going to be pushing this very hard over the next 10 months to get the Illegal vote! I don’t think it will get though the house in 10 years if they continue trying it!

    well…your calling ILLEGALS..immigrants..those aren’t the same thing pal. They ALL need to go home and come back the way the rules we already have say to do it….I don’t think we should reward them for breaking the law!

    How does that create jobs? The job market would shrink with the influx of people. That’s simple addition and subtraction.
