Right my computer I don’t even know the name of. Some specs are as follows
Has an Asus a8n-SLI motherboad.
Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 x2 Dual Core Processor 4200+ 2.21ghz
RAM: 2 (I got another 3 I can put in)
System type: 32-bit Operating System
I also know the computer has an Nvidia graphics card.
Right, before I installed a fresh copy of windows (Vista), the desktop had XP and before I even started trying to fix it, it used to blue screen if I tried booting from CD, if I tried changing firewall settings, system restore point. Just all blue screens! My mate some how managed to stop this but however, it still blue screened from trying to boot from CD. However XP was running fine now, I downloaded all the latest drivers as I managed to install my Belkin Internet adapter to access the internet. After everything was moreless up to date, the desktop let me boot from CD to install a fresh copy of windows.
Now here is the new problem.
Bit similar to last time. I can install the internet and access websites like Facebook and Google through internet explorer as usual. But when I try change the security settings, install Google Chrome, Install Adobe Flash Player, try download Service Pack 2 for Vista and when I click on the System Restore to have a look, it just blue screens and restarts and after this it just blue screens straight from load up half way through the Vista loading screen (with the green bar moving if you know what I mean, haha) so I have to boot from CD again and repair windows.
So yeah, I guess it blue screens from trying to install any sort of software. My mate managed to fix this on XP. Do you know how to do this on Vista? My mate is a College Amateur and just guesses so he luckily fixed it last time. I done all the dirty work myself! Once it stops blue screening over stuff like that I can download all the latest drivers for it and get it running properly!
Cheers in advance.

Try setting all your BIOS to defaults. There may be some conflicts in the clock speed of the CPU, RAM or possibly the graphics card. See if that matters.
i think there’s something wrong with the CPU wiring like loose-connection
open your CPU box and check all your cables(SATA,power cord)
P.S. take help from ur LUCKY friend
check wiring connections or you can remove the RAM and set it again.
Vista…? dude, your better off with xp or windows 7
If you updated the video card before updating windows that could create problems. I’m sort of thinking as I go. The Blue screen can be caused by bad graphics card drivers. It is normally best to update windows first then update everything else. Did you install software that was designed for service pack 2? It would have said service pack two as a system requirement? If so there might be a compatibility issue right at the start.
You might try to get an answer in the Microsoft Windows forums if you can’t resolve it here or try several forums.http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windo…
