McAfee says Site Advisor and Security Scan plus. They both are on my HP (factory did a system restore)
Should I delete either? Please don’t say remove both: I had no AV on my laptop bc both my friend and the guy at the HP HQ told me that i would be fine without AV. I was 3 years without any AV whatsoever (they said “you have Windows Firewall, you’ll be fine”) and I got tons of viruses including 2 major trojans.
What do I do?? Please help! =)

You can uninstall both and install Avira. Avira is much lighter than those two.
First of all for the macafee and norton, they are both antiviruses so I would delete one I would delete norton because personally I think macafee is better. The reason why your computer is so slow is because of the viruses and the two Trojans mainly because of the two Trojans. And also about the windows firewall, it doesent protect you fully it just helps but most viruses and Trojans are made to get through windows firewall. Because of the Trojans they are taking up the space you have on your computer so I would recommend to clean out your computer just wipe the whole thing clean. If you have important things on your computer I would recomend to back them up on external hard drive once you have backed them up I would scan all of the items with macafee to search for any viruses or trojens on the computer.
Well pretty much everyone has told you that McAfee and Norton are both antiviruses and that that was probably your biggest problem right there.
And the answerer above is probably about one person out of a thousand who would choose McAfee over Norton.
McAfee is one of the lowest rated antiviruses according to AV Comparatives, whereas the newest versions of Norton are being praised almost universally.
Norton is no longer the resource hog that it once was (despite the people who keep saying that it still is), and its detection rates are excellent.http://www.av-comparatives.org/images/st…
(In the above ratings you’ll see than Norton (Symantec) is rated three stars, while McAfee is a two.)
Axe the McAfee and keep the Norton.
Use the McAfee Consumers Products Removal Tool to get rid of McAfee.

GUYS norton is not a hog anymore as it was 2 yrs ago. They made a HUGE difference to the software undergoing a nearly entire remodeling in 2010 version.this year for 2012 they went under a minor remodeling.Boosting speed and performance by over 15%.If you ask the people at a Computer shop they will probally tell you norton is the best paid anti-virus out there.http://www.amazon.com/Norton-Internet-Se… this is the 5 star reviews about norton.and here is proof of its virus detection…http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,239… a review from pc mag giving it 4 1/2 stars and when you scroll down you can compare with the “top”anti viruses of this year. The second best is avg and coming in 3rd is kaspersky.HAVE A NICE DAY AND REMEMBER SYMANTEC RULES!!!!!!!
You should not be having more than one Antivirus software in your computer. Or else it will slow down your PC like a slug. Crash your PC. And detect each other as a virus and bloat your system.
You should use 1 antivirus I would recommnd you – AVG Internet Security 2012 for best Paid. And for free AVG Free 2012.
Having more than 1 anti virus can slow your computer down even more. You should install Malwarebytes and scan it with that, then do a scan with an antivirus. Should be easier in safe mode.
If you need extra help just email me as I wasn’t really thorough here.

Yes both are antivirus programs and Norton is the worst at hogging up your resources
