I can think of one more thing that nobody has mentioned so far. My brother had a similar problem with his desktop PC and it was because of a CPU fan (or some other fan – I don’t remember exactly) inside it that is supposed to cool it down. This caused the computer to overheat inside and caused various random problems. His computer finally died, but this was because he knew the problem and did nothing about it. :)
Another thing – maybe you could try using different software to do all those things you’ve described? I use Auslogics Boostspeed – it has more than 15 tools combined in one program. It cleans, defragments, optimizes, etc. You can run system analysis with it and then fix whatever problems it finds.

you can run ccleaner but 3 years is kind of old for a computer i think the best results will be if you restore factory condition with either the recovery disk ir use f8 to get to the recovery patition

install ram in it or try uninstalling programs and ending processes from within task manager
also your router might be bad or you might have slow internet sadly i had dial up for 2 years on a bad computer and it made internet using impossible try upgrading your internet ram or router or all three

Your computer might be suffering from different problems to improve its performance you should:
    >> Scan your computer with an antivirus
    >> Apply defragmentation on your system
    >> Delete all temporary files
    >> Run disc clean up
    >> Run Reginout scan.

Upgrade your RAM, CPU and maybe your HDD. Also you should defrag your HDD, clean out your temp folder, and maybe run CCleaner.
