It’s called a dress code. And I wouldn’t even allow such a person into my place of business. If I can’t see your ID, and if the security cameras can’t see your ID, and you wear a gown big enough to conceal a weapon, then I’d rather be safe than sorry.

Islam is a religion of violence and slavery
I support your position completely.
Terrorists in burqua-wearing countries are happy to disguise themselves as women to carry weapons to their targets. They love the burqua. It can conceal all sorts of hardware.
As for the face veil – when it’s important to identify someone, especially to know who is walking into your place of business, then the veil comes off.
If she’s going to a social function where the folks are comfortable with face-veils, all well and fine.
Well since she was “fired” means she was hired at one point. This becomes a slippery slope.
Technically, it is not discrimination. You are not singling her out based on her religion, though the religion asks women to be fully covered. Dress codes can be enforced to a certain extent as long as those codes are not blatantly restrictive of ones rights.
Someone would have a hard time suing based on this alone. Public school systems often have dress codes limiting gang colors, vulgar language, an insignia of some kind… ect. So to say this is discrimination would open the door for many many other lawsuits… thus the slippery slope.
Where did this happen and what were the circumstances?
Recently, a Muslim man was fired for growing a beard but he had the beard BEFORE he was hired and a year and a half later the employer claimed that his beard was against policy. He sued…rightfully so.
In general, I think wearing a face veil in a public workplace would make me not hire you….but if the woman was already a Muslim and already wore the veil, then why was she fired after the fact…or did she only become a Muslim later?
The specifics of this instance are needed to provide an accurate answer.
Would you fire someone wearing a hat and baggy pants? For the same reasons you stated you shouldn’t be letting them in your business either. So if you let people who wear hats and/or baggy pants into your business, but don’t let women wear burquas, then either you’re a hypocrite or your reasons are bullshit. And i suspect your reasons are bullshit.
u freakin idiots, it’s called a security scanner. u no, one of those hand held things u run up and down or even one of those gate things that beep in a department store not hiring someone cuz of wat they they wear cuz of religious purposes is totally prejudiced and totally against our constitution. if u wanna be all prejudiced american, than atleast act like an american and respect the constitution.
Because it is. She was obviously hired wearing a burqa. (It’s not a sometime thing.)
So to extend your logic, anyone wearing a large, flowing dress should be fired? Or too much makeup so they look different? Or a wig?
What if my dress code *required* everyone to wear a burqa? Or forbade anyone from wearing a cross?
It’s not discrimination, they need to take their Muslim dress back to the Middle East I am sick of seeing them here anyway, if they come to America dress like and American. And I don’t care if it has to do with their religion, that is not in the Koran anyway.
I agree with you 100%. Right or wrong, when I shopping and see a woman in that outfit, I keep my eye on her. I don’t know what she has under that loose fitting outfit. As Americans we are supposed to be vigilant. Yes, better safe than sorry.
is not. in the days of homeland security its not. under that veil can be a man with a suicide bomb strapped on. nobody is immune from search and seizure.
Nuns wear big gowns, big enough to conceal a weapon. Would you throw a nun out of your place of business too?
See- that’s how it’s discrimination.
Maybe she is practicing to be a bee keeper. Just hang a sign that says people can’t wear bee keeper masks.
I agree women shouldn’t cover their face in this century for security purposes and I’m a Muslim
if i saw them on a bus dressed like this, i would not get off,but i would ask (demand) to know what she(?) is hiding…i’d rather be a dik than dead…
Its not. If a dress code covers a burqa then they have no complaint.
Muslims are fine, let’s worry about the Chinese.
I’ll agree on this point. Some jobs are not compatible with Muslim garb.
It isn’t. The true racists are the ones claiming this to be racist
Liberals will say that it’s because we have freedom of religion therefore muslims can impose their dress code on my business.
It isn’t, but with faces like theirs, it’s better to cover them up.
