Has anyone else received emails such as this in the past couple days? I just wanted to share this.

That is actually a VERY obvious scam.
1) The “From” e-mail address is a dead give away
2) The IRS NEVER EVER sends out e-mails.
3) The IRS is not a “corporation”
1 ounce on common sense says this is not legit, but thanks for sharing. Some people ARE dumb enough to fall for a scam that is as obvious as this. Anyone who does fall for this deserves it as a form of Darwinism.
Edit:
Yes, you were VERY clear that you did not fall for this and I in no way was hinting at that.
Sure, it’s obviously a scam. I have received these emails, and upon first glance, it’s not so obvious. The sender’s name says IRS. And the email address isn’t always shown. The people that do this are pretty clever, and getting better every day. I wouldn’t judge too quickly anyone that falls for that. One day, you may be the one taken for a fool.
I’m always getting something from someone about an IRS return but I know it’s phony because it doesn’t have the irs.gov on it’s email and I’ve been self-employed for years and don’t receive a return but pay out the ying yang…Just don’t respond or open anything without irs.gov on it again…
Clearly it is a scam, but you have some naive people out there. Thanks for giving the public a heads up. Hopefully, this will keep someone from opening this email.
ANYTHING that comes from a RUSSIAN e-mail address does not “look legit”. Most people would have known enough to hit the delete button without even opening that message.
In addition, the IRS makes it very clear on their Web site and on all their forms that they *never* communicate via e-mail.
Sorry, but anyone who gets scammed by that e-mail you quote shouldn’t be allowed out on the Internet by themselves.
