Today I Started My Computer But Then Malware Popped Up, What Do I Do To Get Rid Of It?

By Networking Security Posted in: security systems

My computer have been running weirdly for the past 5 days, first it started off with “Invalid system disk, please insert disk and press any key” Well, this happened about a month ago when I deleted something I shouldn’t have off of my computer, but later I fixed it. So after the five days, I start up my computer and was on it for at least 4 hours and then my firefox stops, I lag out and this “Security protection” pops up, I have never had anything called security protection downloaded onto my computer and it pops up saying “Warning, threat detected” and when I tried to open Task manager to see what it was It said “win32/Blaster.worm detected in task manager, cannot open.” it said it on system restore, IE, firefox and basically anything to do with my computer itself. It was a pop-up one right after the other but luckily with the little knowledge I have in computers I was able to manually boot it and start my computer up in safe mode. How do I get it off? Or do I have too re-install windows?

Download and install Malwarebyte’s Antimalware, and SuperAntiSpyware.
Make sure to update latest definitions for both programs.
    Start up in safe mode.
    Scan with Malwarebyte’s Antimalware
When scan is finished, reboot in safe mode.
    Scan with Superantispyware.
When scan is finished, reboot and you should be good to go.

Note: If you are blocked from downloading files, you may have to download them on another computer and run them from a flash drive. If you cannot get online or update Malwarebytes, open Internet Explorer, go to Tools > Internet Options > Connections > LAN Settings > uncheck everything except “Automatically detect settings”, and try again.
Go to http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download… , download and run rkill. After it completes, go to http://www.malwarebytes.org/ and download Malwarebytes, install, update, and run a full scan. Remove any items it finds. If prompted to reboot, do so. Note that if you reboot before running Malwarebytes, you will need to run rkill again.
Confirm that the infection is removed and your computer works. Then go into system protection (Start > Right click Computer > Properties > System Protection), select any hard drives with protection on, press Configure…, and turn off system protection. Then reenable it (deletes all restore points). This ensures the infection does not remain in your restore points.
If you cannot follow these steps because the infection is keeping you from loading Windows normally or running files, try following them again in Safe Mode w/ Networking. Reboot your computer, and continually tap F8 during the boot process. Select Safe Mode w/ Networking.
These instructions are tailored to Windows 7; if you use a different version of Windows, then they may differ slightly. Use common sense.
