America’s progressive taxation is a major reason its economy is stagnant. It is complicated,reduces incentives,causes “class warfare,” and drives businesses [and the jobs they create] out of the country.
A flat tax would allow America to be able to fund its programs as medicare and social security without forcing those who have successfully worked so hard to have to pass a needs test in order to receive their entitlements. It would be far more equitable than the current system that allows corporations to escape paying tax. Just the money saved from disbanding the IRS alone would be billions! It would create much more revenue by closing the “loopholes,” that only wealthy people who can afford good accountants can take advantage of. The American government bureaucracy is an insult to all those who work hard and expect fairness- America’s founding fathers would be appalled at the sorry state of its so -called “leaders.” Everyone has a special interest,everyone can be bought. The number one goal of America’s elected officials is to get re-elected. If the congressmen worked half as hard for their constituents as they do at getting re-elected the U.S. would not be in the mess it’s in. America should just look at the countries that have adopted flat taxation, and see how their economies have expanded. Employing a flat taxation system is the way of the future. When will America “modernize,” its outdated,confusing,non-beneficial tax system?

Like I have said before it’s a great Idea but I think Sales tax with no evasions or exemptions would work the best as those who buy more pay more. Just an Idea.
Some of these answers are so tired that I think I am going to take a nap. haha
It is absurd to confuse making the tax less progressive with eliminating bad deductions.
The so-called “Flat Taxes” are not flat. But they are way less progressive, giving huge tax breaks for the wealthy.
And the idea that someone you can appease these people while eliminating bad deductions is making a deal with the devil
What happens if there is a serious illness in the family and your salary cannot cover medical cost. And how does a nurse pay the same as billionaire.??
All the corporate tax evaders will not be caught as long as they have political influence. A lot of politicians are bought and paid for by them. They spend more money on bribes than actual paying tax.
Its how America works.
Get real- there are NO FAILURES of realization among the ruling class.
THEY PLANNED the low wage economy- they are ORGANIZED.
we sit around debating if we should be on the boss’s side.
And they wage war on us.
I think you are talking about third world economies who have no where to go but up anyway – based on low wages and child labour.
