Seriously people, parts of the republicans Patriot Act have already been deemed unconstitutional by the US Supreme court. Having super computers listen in to all Americans telephone calls searching for key words to pick up and such, only then to have a human continue listening in. BTW for those of you who are not educated, all internet and cell phone activity is still monitored by these super computers! The Supreme Court found it only to be unconstitutional to listen in to land lines! Which had been determined in KATZ v. US, far prior to the passage of The Patriot Act, yet the republicans passed it anyhow.
Now health care for people, I’m sorry but that pales in comparison to the Patriot Act the republicans passed.
Also as far as the republicans being for smaller federal government, if that were the case then why did they create a whole new governmental agency. Most people don’t realize that Homeland Security was non existent, until Bush and his republican cronies in congress at the time created it!
The difference between the republicans and the democrats that I see is that the democrats are up front and honest about what they do!

The Patriot Act. Healthcare didn’t infringe on anyone except the AMA and the corrupt insurance industry. The Patriot Act is an infringement on the freedoms and privacy of every tax paying American.

Healthcare-by far. It wasn’t instituted due to an attack of Islamic Terrorists—oh..wait a minute-hmm
Both are of concern. The patriot act and parts of the health-care reform laws are indeed violations of some of the most basic freedoms afforded at the time of the signing of our constitution, over 200 years ago. The patriot act infringes on privacy, the new health-care laws infringe on liberty. These have nothing to do with which party signs on to either. Both R and D continue to follow the age old path to control the governed, instead of representing the very people that elected them.

Yes Republicans have proved to be nothing but a bunch of hypocrites, opposing big government but passing the Patriot Act (albeit with lots of Democratic Support) and opposing big spending while charging two wars on a credit card.
However, that doesn’t mean ObamaCare will prove to be constitutional either. If the federal government can force you to buy health insurance, what else can it force you to do? IMHO, it’s pretty stupid. If they want us to have healthcare then they should provide to us.
