Naturally, any country wants its immigrants to make it better and does not want immigrants to be a drag on their society. That is why the immigration applications ask for things such as education, knowledge of language, money on hand etc.
They want to know if these people are skilled and smart enough to succeed. But don’t they realize that illegal immigrants are proving themselves in their own way?
Look at it logically: if you’re clever enough to sneak past America’s border security, you’re clever enough to succeed in America. You’ve proven you have what it takes.
So why do some people advocate deporting them and forcing them to apply legally if we know they are already fit? This is wasteful bureaucracy.

Number One, and most important. Illegal immigrants are forced to work for low wages and no benefits. The American worker cannot compete with that fact.
Number Two, many American employers prefer to hire illegals, they can’t complain to the authorities (OSHA) about dangerous working conditions.
Number Three, Since they don’t have health insurance they are receiving medical care in Emergency Rooms at very high expense to the taxpayers.
Number Four, If we granted citizenship or a green card on the basis of cleverness in crossing the border illegally we would be flooded with hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants, how do you propose to provide, employment, shelter and health benefits for them.
Number Five, we are no longer a huge unpopulated country as in the 17th and 18th centuries, where are all these people to live and work?
it has something to do with private property and retaining the fruits of the efforts of yourself and your forefathers.
odd notion, eh?
you’d think that they’d know that everything belongs to the state as trustee for all humanity and that the elites who run the state as the most qualified to divide the pie. and, therefore, that they’d keep their mouths shut lest the state notice that they have more than their allotted share and send someone to take it for the public good.
now, are you, or did you, receive any inheritance from your forefathers? hmm … maybe you should hand it over along with the privileged position in life it has given you. That would, after all, be fair in the sense of equal outcomes, wouldn’t it?
So you want to follow the laws that please you yet disregard what doesn’t?

They do not have to be “clever” to cross the border. All they are proving is a disregard for U.S. law.
They have several factors in their favor when crossing. Sheer numbers, porous borders, several attempts they can make before they are charged with the crime, and several others.

It could have something to do with the illegal part. If you do not have enough respect to follow the laws and to learn english then you have no right to be here no matter how bad your life is.

What is it about illegal that you do not understand? If I steal then pay taxes and contribute to a charity, is that ok?
It’s illegal though. That’s like saying if someone if smart enough and/or strong enough to rob someone, then they shouldn’t have to go to jail.
Because they are getting away with it because illegals are perceived as weak and unable to defend their rights. This will change.

If you’re clever enough to steal money from a bank, should you be allowed to keep the money? The part Americans don’t like about the illegal immigrant issue is the “illegal” part. America has always welcomed people with open arms, but we have a process for doing so that ensures we know exactly who is here. It also allows us to screen out criminals and such. Sneaking in messes with that.
If the very first thing you do when entering our country is break a law, then you do not deserve to be here. It is currently illegal to enter without going through processes that document your arrival. Why is that so difficult?
So, am I crazy for not wanting to hand 230 billion per year for free food, free housing, free eduction, and free health care?
Is it crazy to not want to have to pay another 210 to 374 billion per year for the 31% of all federal inmates that are illegally in the country?
Is it crazy that the most, since they entered illegally, get illegal SS# and ID, and are in a tight group and 50 to 80% are arrested at one time or another for crimes?
The Mexican government actually has classes to teach them how to sneak into the states. It is not that they simply want to do better for themselves, most have criminal motivations to be in the states illegally. Are you content that about 18 to 22% of your paycheck goes to paying for them directly and indirectly?
So, call me crazy, but I am not happy that I have to hand over even 10% of my paycheck for them to live better than our own citizens that have paid taxes for decades, and paid into SS for decades, and have difficulties to pay bills from one month to the next.
I have no problem if the come through the front door and contribute to the economy. When they walk through the back door illegally and only take and take from society, it emboldens them to break other laws while here. It is human nature to take advantage of a situation, and I am tired of being taken advantage of. It is much much much cheaper to pack them on a bus and send them back across the boarder. I do not want to hear about how it will break up families – they should have thought of that before they broke the law. Or should we let all prisoners go because that breaks up families also?
