Why Does My Subnet Rules Keep Changing In My Security Software?

By Networking Security Posted in: internet security

I’m not changing anything but when I wake my computer up from sleeping, I get a message that the security subnet rules have changed…sometimes I get the message twice. Once before it connects and again after I’m connected.
And by not connected and connected I mean..connected as in I can actually browse the internet without getting an error message. Sometimes my network says I’m connected but I can’t get internet…the little monitors have a yellow circle going around them as it’s trying to establish a connection. That would be my “not connected” status.

Do tell which type of anti-virus you are using. Windows sets the type of network you have so that your better secured. The screen which asks you to pick between work, home and public networks is very important. In that step, click on the selection based on your location. If you click on public file sharing will not be available, and some other features as well.
You must be using Vista or XP since you have two little monitors. Click on them -> Network and sharing centre, here click on the “x”. Windows will try to sort the issue for you. If you are using Eset Smart Security try to click on learning mode for the setting.
